Dressed In Confusion

Sorry Kids for being gone so long. The Boca Show has taken over my life. I"m almost done. The display was finished up today, along with the framing. Not all the framing but the hard stuff is out of the way. This image is one of my all time favorites. The by-line sums up my life as of lately. This one will be in the show BUT it will not be for sale. This one belongs to Andy Montgomery. So if you want to see it in person come to Boca Raton or travel to Chattanooga, Tn.....thats where Andy's house is

Blossoms Fall

#2 from the Boca show. This one only has one freaky face in it! I think I might do a whole butterfly series. I know it sounds gay doing a series of Polaroids on butterflies and all, but for some reason these little creatures have always fascinated me. Don't know why but they have. Trying to catch these little buggers....now that is work...

Valley of Humiliation

Did you know that you can use bleach to take the Polaroid image complety off? Well you can... to bad you can't use bleach to erase certain memories. I have a few that need to be erase. Some people say you learn from these memories...I say......why keep learning!

Sweetness

Guess what Florida faces its coldest days of the year. And I don't have any heat.....my space heater went out at the end of winter last year and I have yet to tell my landLord. I guess it is time to break out the sub-zero sleeping bag..... yes sweet days are ahead. This Polaroid was part of the original 20 that I display for Platform Florida. I was sad that it was sold but its hanging I'm sure in a warm house with lots of heat. o sweet summer, bring me dreams of bikinis and 100% humidity.

In The Valleys Wild

This Polaroid was completed in 2005, it is a tribute to William Blake. The site is a great resource for his works, some of the stuff I never seen before. On the home front. I ordered my frames for the Boca Art Festival. Things are coming together slowing but I think by show time I will be ready. I still have to do a few more Polaroids. Its always hard to judge how much work you should display. Well, I hope you guys have a great Friday. Please if you visit RapidView, leave a comment. I'll hit you back with a thank you or a whatttssssup....And if you have any ideas of how to get this blog out into the cyber world.....Drop it on me

Society

Have you ever heard of Denison Witmer? Well, I just got a chance to hear him live at the Polk, he is an amazing talent. His music made me realize that society isn't always bad. That there is good out there, you just have to find it. Don't let society or people hold you back from what you want to accomplish. I confess,...I dreamed society was good. It was a good dream.

Romance, Religion & Disaster

"The death I should prefer would be to break my neck off the back of a good horse at full gallop on a fine day." A quote from Fanny Kemble; A Passionate Victorian. Did I read the book...no but I did use a lot of words and quotes from the book. She was a rebel....and everyone needs a good rebel now and then......look at Cuba....where would they be without Fidel....Vive la Cuba

Nature Responded

I have been wanting to post a butterfly shot for sometime now but that image brings back a lot of bad memoirs, so I waited and decided to post this one. I think the phrase is very interesting. Nature often effects how we consume things, and of course the same goes with us. There will always be a war between nature and Humans. A film maker that convey's this point pretty much in all of his movies is Terrence Malick. If you haven't seen his movies your missing out on a dying form of cinema.

Speaking of a Battle....This is Super Bowl Sunday. I'm picking the Steelers to win over the Seahawks. Score 27 to 21..... Rothlisberg is only in his second year.....Un-real..I'll be cooking up some Rothlisbergers and some duck. Next year i'll be in Miami watching the Bucs win there Second Super Bowl.

Drink ye all of me

This Polaroid is based on the last Supper, all 12 disciples are present in the polaroid. Over time you will see a lot of spiritual themes pop up in these Polaroids. Its a huge part of me and my art work. No news to report on this Rainy Friday,.. ooooo the sound of rain with a slight twist of lightning.

the Queen

Here we go with a bunch of Polaroids. These are Polaroid Colleges as I like to call them. I use Sx-70 film and then I add different elements to the back of the Polaroid. I make up words and phrases to go along with the image. They say every picture is worth a thousand words. This technique goes away from that. The only thing digital is the black boarded around the polaroid. I have to use it because my background is white. This technique was developed over a year ago by me and now its pretty much all I do. I have sold a bunch of these and I had to scan them to keep a record of them, and now that I'm blogging I can share them with you. I hope you enjoy the month of February.
