Isn't if funny how this whole Recycling phase has really taken off in the 21st century, when the earth has been doing it since the beginning of time. Just shows you how strong the earth really is. You can drop bombs on me, build cities that touch the clouds, you can sit there and think you are doing harm by burring that coal, or cutting down that tree. Your trying to use less, produce less and for what? To save me! I have given you all you need to survive. Food, light, and energy is yours for the taking. My resources are endless, don't you understand, all the beauty you see is recycled. Not matter what they tell you I will not fade away. So survive from my seeds, live off of the land, drink the water, and remember recycling is NOT a man made invention. Earth was here before you and will be here long after you are gone.

Rp. I guess its good, I haven't used the stuff. The whole thing with it is, Polaroid was an American institution and its just sad to me that we have lost such vital part of that American institution. If you think about how ahead of its time it really was. I mean, shit, now everyone has some device on them that takes a picture. Polaroid defined a generation and gave it an identity and today I feel like we are losing that identity.
Blog: Do you plan on using the new film?
Rp: When I run out of Polaroid, I'll take up cross stitching.
Blog: Do you still call yourself an artist?
Rp: I don't think I ever called myself that. What does that mean anyway? Has my work ever been in a museum, have I made money from what I have created, I mean what the F$#@ does that mean? I'm a human that needs to create, I think about creating something everyday. As the saying goes art is in the eye of the beholder. I've seen pink dogs wearing sunglasses hanging in million dollar museums.
Blog: I feel like you have something against dogs.
Rp: Hell yeah, we give them free food, water, toys and what do they give us? Those damn eyes looking up at you, saying can I have some of your steak? No you can't so get gone.
Blog: What was the best part of your summer?
Rp: Not hearing your voice, Ha ha, just kidding. No, probably swimming in the smoky mountains and baking in a tent during the night. I think I lost 10lbs!

Looks like all I can do is post these paper images taken with my iphone. Which I have heard is the #1 device used to upload to Flickr. On another note, Garrett newspapers let go another 700 people last week. Looks like the newspaper industry is still in the woods even though they tell us otherwise. If I get enough of these images I'll have to call the series "Death of Paper". Paper will be around for a while but newspapers on the other hand not so much.

Never been posted as a single image but part of a Polaroid Collage posted on 1.28.2008. Got a few more poalroids, just have to find the time to scan them in for ya. I"ll have another one for you by the end of the week. Where would photography be without Polaroid? Ponder that question while your taking your digital images and layering little cutesy masks on them to make it look like they just fell from the southside of heaven. I'm sorry, where I come from people don't glow neon gumbo and their hair is not as soft as those flowered sheets waving in the wind out back at grandma Mildred's house. But hey we all put them on but sometimes we have others put them on for us....

There was one time I was duck hunting with some friends. Beautiful morning, bagged a couple of ducks everything was going great. Then all of a sudden a storm comes up, the lake turns into a monster. We are in this little flats boat, waves and wind like you couldn't believe. The lake has some flooded timber areas and we took refuge there and hoped it would pass. It never did. Good thing out captain knew how to maneuver the boat back to safety. There were many reports of boats capsized and even deaths through-out the area on that day.

Very interesting stuff by Michael Johansson born in 1975 in Sweden. He is exploring the nature of how we consume as human beings. How products shape our lives. I assume Johansson didn't like this and started shaping the products into whatever form he desired. I love his take on objects in space. Putting together like objects and un-like objects transforming them into something total new. What amazes me is how it gets his shape and form in his sculptures! He gets it through color and texture from the product. By mixing and matching color he gives his sculptures depth. Really impressive stuff. What a great vision he has. Click through his website you will be amazed.

What a great life you had Mr. Winters. You have touched my life like you wouldn't believe. You were cut from a different breed. How blessed I am to know your story.

Dear Mr. Winters,

It has always been hard for me to transfer my thoughts to paper but when I heard about your death today, I felt thankful that I live in a country that has heard your story. I am grateful for your service and the sacrifice you made for this country.

Your story has meant a lot to me Mr. Winters. As matter of fact toward the end of every year, I sit down and watch Band of Brothers. Not because its a great mini series, I mean don't get me wrong it's great, probably the greatest since Lonesome Dove.The reason I watch it every year is not because of all the great action, its because of the interviews. To see and hear you men, actual heroes, talking about their experiences brings a tear to my eye almost every time. It helps me to re-focus on life and to give thanks to the Lord above for men like yourself. Without you and others alike we wouldn't be enjoying the freedoms that we do.

I feel like my generation is constantly searching for meaning, we want so badly to leave a mark on this world. Your generation set the gold standard, you did it not because you had to but because you choose to. You choose to run into battle, you choose to lead men, you choose to do the right thing. I just wish my generation would hear stories like yours more often. We need them. They help us slow down, sit back and think about the more important things in life.

Mr. Winters I never got the chance to meet you and that is ok. I consider it a blessing that I can sit here and reflect on your life in a free country. Even though its a sad day knowing your gone. I know your story will live on in the hearts and minds of many Americans and people throughout the world. Thank you so much for the positive influence you have had on me and will have on my family in the future.

Staples collaborated with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, who produced this album like Rick Rubin produced Johnny Cash's last albums. The blueprint: bring an aging artist back to his or her roots, strip the music down, mix a couple of covers and traditionals with some never material, and watch the aging artist emerge back into the spotlight with new vigor. The blueprint works. You Are Not Alone is a winning effort for Staples, who should have never been out of the spotlight to begin with.

I'm the first to admit that I thought the punkness of White Crosses would be outside of my comfort zone. Then, I listened to it, and my comfort zone grew larger. With White Crosses, Against Me! did not create just another throwaway disc of teen-aged angst. Instead, they created a catchy slice of rock-and-roll a short-but-sweet drive through a post-adolescent wasteland.

After I gave The Wild Hunt to a friend of mine, he texted me this message: Now I know how people must have felt the first time they heard Bob Dylan. The Tallest Man on Earth, Kristian Matsson, probably gets compared to Dylan too often, but there's a reason for it. Like Dylan, Matsson cuts a concise figure of the human condition with deft hands. This album is simple and comforting, a fit companion for the times when you might feel like the onliest man that ever lived.

I can't think of any other album by any other band in 2010 that made melancholy sound so refreshing. High Violet subtly moves without ever relying on hooks or coherent narration. Its power rests in its instrumentation – a bassoon here, a string section here, Matt Beringer's baritone everywhere. Funereal anthems from start to finish, High Violet is 11 songs that are both sad and happy simultaneously. Even more amazing is that these happy-sad songs compel us to sing along, happily.

I'm the little brother of a Queen lover. Coming of age in the 1980s, my brother, a solid six years older than me, blared the soundtrack to Flash Gordon when he'd pick me up from school. At the time, I was embarrassed by it, the guilty pleasure that it is. But the more I listened to it, the more I grew to embrace it and Queen alike. Foxy Shazam works on me in much the same way. Their self-titled album is a victory lap full of blistering guitar solos, fiery theatrics, and flamboyant vocals that should allow Freddie Mercury to rest a little more peacefully. Foxy Shazam fills the Queen-sized void.

Some of the best songs are songs that tell stories, and Brian Fallon, lead vocalist for The Gaslight Anthem, has no shortage of stories to tell, much like the Boss. Blogs have complained about Fallon's affection for all things Springsteen for several years, but, hey, if you're going to incessantly channel someone, who better to channel than Bruuuuuuce? American Slang is a slick one-two wallop of youthful mythology that finds strength in its brevity, veracity, and uncanny ability to deliver an honest-to-god hook.

Fueled by the viral hit, “Fuck You!,” The Lady Killer is an fantastic collage of progressive soul, eccentric uptown hip-hop, and seductive spy-thriller themes. You can't help but be mesmerized.

Pure joy, that's what Fang Island's self-titled album is. In Pitchfork's review of this album, Fang Island describes their aesthetic as “everyone high-fiving everyone,” and that's about as accurate as it gets. I've had to tear myself away from this album out of fear that I'd ruin it, that somehow by overplaying it I'd squeeze the everloving life out of it. But that's a ridiculous notion. This album is a neverending triumph, no matter how tightly I hold it. The blistering power chords and revitalizing lyrics continually tell me so.

THE AGE OF ADZ

My #1 album of the year is The Age of Adz by: Sufjan Stevens. This album took me to a different planet. Almost like when Radiohead came out with Ok Computer or the 1st time I heard Gnarls Barkley, The odd Couple. On the break of retirement this summer Sufjan left his old sounds behind and birth a masterpiece. An orchestra of heaven. The whole album feels like its from the future. To leave your old sound behind and take on something new and make it work to me is pretty remarkable. A lot of bands try to change their sound and just fall short. My hat is off to you Sufjan! You had a sound that was strictly yours and now you have another...

Arcade Fire

THE SUBURBS

The best thing exported out of Canada since Molson Lager is? Arcade Fire. No matter when this band puts out an album its an epic event. As of now there has been 3 albums and I already can't wait for the next one. They bring a captivating and complex sound like no other. Unlike there last two albums people in the U.S. are starting to catch on to their greatness. No song is bigger than the other. It flows like a gem from beginning to the end.

The Black Keys.

Ever since Ben Blackstone brought over Attack & Release I have been hooked on the Black Keys. I got to see them live at HOB in Orlando. It was quite amazing . Two dudes, one jamming on the drums, the other playing guitar and singing. This album is by far there deepest and best one. Their beats are channeled from the old Wu-tang days. (i.e. Tighten up) They are jamming like no other. Their lyrics are stories from the golden days of the hollywood film noir. Heavily influenced by the Blues but with sounds that makes you want to put your hands in the air and shake it like a polaroid picture.

TEEN DREAM

The dreamy sounds of Victoria Legrand. Each album they put out I grow more fond of her and her voice. Also I'm a sucker for the piano that she plays. There is something about this album that makes your feel at peace after a listen. Teen Dream is an emotional album filled with great keyboards and razor sharp guitars from Alex Scally. All the emotions that love bring both good and bad are sprinkled throughout the whole album.

Kanye West

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Say what you want about Kanye as a person but the boy can make music. I'm not one to follow his twitter feed or watch him when he's on Tv. I don't read the reviews about his albums. All I do is que the CD on my ipod and press play and I hear flow like no other. The beats from this album would make the eye of the tiger look like a sesame street song for sissy's. I did hear someone say that Kanye's music is all about the beats and the tempo, which drowns out the lyrics making them irrelevant. I have to disagree with that. I believe Kanye and his lyrics are front and center and Kanye wouldn't have it any other way.

If you looking for an album that you could play and play and never get sick of. You will find it here. Its that way for me. I go to this album all the time. This is by far there most polish album and worth a listen or two or three.

The debut album for Janelle Monae has it all. Taking soul, blues, rock, rap, R&B, you name it. She mixes it all in on this album. Discovered by Big Boi also produced by him and Sean Combs. What a great start for her, excited to see what she does in the future.

SIGH NO MORE

I got this album early November. After the 1st listen I thought. Man these guys are great, lots of energy and great sounds. Any other year this album would have been my top 5. You'll love the sound and its hard for me to believe they are from London.

The 1st album was great well guess what this one is too. You got to love the different sounds and melodies bouncing around this album. And come on they name it Contra! One of the greatest words outside of the word Katie Holmes.

My surprise of the year is Caribou, Swim, Not much singing going on in this album but damn does it flow. I'm becoming a big fan of Caribou, I actually blogged about their past album. Daniel Snaith is the only member of this band. Yet another great Canadian. What the hell are they doing up there!? Well heraaahayyy for Canada. Two bands in the top 10 and probably more people that I don't know about! O by the way that Molson Lager is one hell or a beer.

Last weekend we were down in Boca with some great friends. While I was down there I realized a couple of things, about that wonderful place called Boca Raton. 1st and formost don't order Pork Chops anywhere while your down there. By doing this you will avoid countless hours on the can. Also, I don't know where your from but where I come from when we see an emergency vehicle we tend to stop or pull over to the side of the road and wait until they pass. Not in Boca! If your stopped at a light that just turned green and your waiting for a fire truck to pass and people start laying on their horns. Don't freak out, it's normal! Either everyone needs hearing aids, or people think their cars are going to catch on fire when the firetruck passes by I don't know. A few other things...If your not on The List well, your shit out of luck, cocktail hour doesn't mean drink until your dancing on the ceiling, Boca Raton is the WORLD Headquarters of OfficeDepot(this I did not know!), if you run into a Dj that hasn't heard of Outkast your at the wrong party or he/she thinks Hip-Hop is an exercise routine, if you happen to be at a wedding during sunset consider yourself blessed, and last but not least, if your turning left and only left make sure you do so at a pace of a snail. Most people attempt the BocaLeft in the right lane of a 4 line highway. Bottom line people in Boca are on a different planet. We did met some incredible people while we were down there and as always Boca never fails to impress. Enjoy your weekend...

Media Consoles

Alison and I are looking into media consoles. I love the look of all four of these. Our Tv is on a coffee table right now. Not such a hot look with all the cords and cable boxes on the floor. The exciting thing about getting one of these consoles is I can finally wall-mount my tv. (Note to Cannon, I'll need some help with that buddy O pal) Which one do you guys like best?

Well with the help of my wife and a few friends, I made it through and posted 31 days in a row. I hope you enjoyed the series. For some reason October has always been a difficult month for me. Having something everyday to do other than work, has help me to focus on the good things and try to forgot the bad things. To take life and move through it the best way I can. Life isn't always Ansal Adams esque. A lot of times its grainy and out of focus but we keep surviving because when this supernova goes down you have to believe and know that everything you do has a reason, In my life that reason is continuing coming out of focus and into focus....

A photo a day for the whole month of October. Taken with a little point & shoot film camera. I'm calling it Embedded InThe Emulsion. An idea that centers around digital media and how we think it will last forever. The bottom line is we still don't know how long digital media will last. The possibility of losing images due to some hardware issue is far greater than an image ever fading off of the emulsion. I understand why film has lost its appeal in our society, we don't want to wait X amount of days to see what it looks like, we want it now. Thats just how we are. We are in light speed when it comes to media and data. But I also think there is a push to get back to film, a push to slow down and really think about the photo at hand. Long live film. I know I want to start shooting more of it. I really enjoyed this little project and I'm hoping you are too. 11 more days and 11 more blog post to go. Take care folks.....

O how I miss you. You held us up, and built us up. I never thought about fear while you were here. I never realized what you meant when you use to say, "Someday this will be yours." I wonder if we did everything we could? You put meaning in the smallest things. I'm thankful and grateful for what you left me and what you taught me. I'm trying not to dwell on those last couple of months but boy it is hard. No one never told me how hard it would really be. I can hear your famous words now,"It will be alright." I always thought we had more time. I realize now those little magical moments with family and friends have the most meaning. I have so much to tell you, share with you. So many wonderful things have happened in my life and I wish we had time so I could share them with you....

They got good taco's boys and girls. Located right across from Wal-Mart in Auburndale, Florida. I got about 5 tacos on this day. The Green sauce was smoking hot! Usually at other taco stands the green sauce isn't that hot. This one is HoT. I off centered this photo because of the bright red but for some reason it didn't make it onto the film. What do you get when you look at Dan Ryan's blog: A Dream of White Horses? Polaroid, Polaroid and more great Polaroids: His images have that timeless feel to them. Some photographers think they can achieve this just by shooting Polaroid film, this is not always the case. You have to have great material, a vision, an a understanding of your craft. Once you have mastered all that, then you got it. Your own "Look." Its something every photographer wants and what many try to mimic with the help of photoshop and crazy filters bought at your local 7-11. To me looking through Dan's blog is almost like seeing into the future. What it might look like after its all said and done. With all the light leaks and the odd things that you can't control with Polaroid film, he is taking advantage of one thing that you don't get anymore with photography these days. Its a simple word called surprise. He is shooting in the Digital Age with integral film and making those photoshop junkies look silly! Keep up the good work.

Polaroid Search

I was searching for Polaroid on google and I came across this blog: The Bunny on the Moon (great name by the way). On there I found some pictures of Kurt Cobain from the Book called; Cobain Unseen. by Charles Cross. Some really great pictures of Kurt. It has a lot of unseen artifacts from the Cobain Estate. I might just have to pick up a copy for myself. Thank you Bunny on the moon for bringing this to my attention. Please check her blog out when you get a chance.

Also I started what I'm calling: Embedded In The Emulsion. A project that will document my life during the month of October. Taken with Olympus Stylus zoom 35mm film camera. The images will post on the same days but not until November. Should be fun, I never have used a 35mm point n shoot, which is kind of weird if you think about it. I have always used SLR's and Rangefinders.

My goal is to do something everyday that is constant, something tangible, something that can't be deleted. Embedded in the Emulsion, one shot, one click, 31 blog post in a row. Should be lots of fun! Not like its a big thing, I just never attempted anything like this before. Enjoy your weekend folks...

Nothing gets my blood pumping more than a David Fincher movie. His movies always seem to be way ahead of the times. The dark material, along with his superior story telling, not to mention the cinematography make it worth shedding out $12 bones to see it on the big screen. I will never forget the feeling I got sitting in the theater watching the last scene of Se7en. I walked out of the theater feeling like it was my head that was in the box! After that one I was hooked.

He has been on a roll since the mid-90's. The Game, Fight Club. Think about the endings in those two movies alone?Man, he can wrap up an ending like no other. The only one that didn't get my blood flowing was Zodiac but maybe that is because I've only seen it once, other than that he puts me on the edge of my seat every time.

I'm sure it will be the same when I go see The Social Network. Based on the preview(which I tried my hardest to avoid but failed) I think its going to be thrilling and sad at the same time. I know Facebook tried to get it canned because its based on a book called The Accidental Billionaires:

The Founding of Facebook A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. All I have to say is Damn what a title and Hot damn David Fincher has a new movie coming out today.

So be happy Mark Zuckerberg your a billionaire. One of the greatest movie directors of our generation just made a movie about U. So when your kids ask, "Daddy how did we get so rich?"you can roll that 35mm projector at your house and say, "Kids sit down and enjoy the show."

Alison and went for a walk last saturday at the Circle B Reserve. Man there was a lot of nature to take in. They have really made it a nice place to Visit. I was telling alison before they built the nature center and all the park areas there was nothing but a trail from the parking lot. I love the non-action going on in the picture. Almost frozen like, sort of what the Circle B is all about.

Infinite Arms

If I had one band right now to write the soundtrack of my life it would be Band of Horses. Their new album is "Infinite Arms." The 3rd album from the North Carolina group and by far the most polished. The lyrics are amazing, almost story like. I saw them live at the Cuban Club during the release of "Cease To Begin" back in 2007. Not a great place to see a show but they brought the house down. If your searching for a great summer album this is the one. I'm willing to bet that it will be one of the top albums on my list for 2010.

One of my favorite things to do everyday is check out Shirt.Woot.com they sell a different shirt everyday of the year. Some good some bad, you have to catch them on their good days. I have bought 3 total shirts so far. The yellow shirt being one of them. I thought the design was really clever. You can't tell from the picture but its the human body with the birds in place of the organs jpg image. When I got the shirt in the mail. I opened it up and a light appeared in the box because it was so yellow. It didn't look that yellow on the site, O well, its one hell of a shirt. Now Alison and I both have yellow shirts that we can wear when we go out together! Aaaa thats so sweet. Couples that dress the same are awesome!! If you ask Alison she would tell you, 'O hell no they are not.' By the way on this day I had to change my yellow shirt but its only a matter of time.......

One of my favorite trees is the Magnolia tree. This one is in my back yard. There are a lot of these trees around Polk County, which I never notice until I owned one myself. Most of them are blooming up a storm. I was a little worried about this one because it had blooms on it but they were not blooming. Well long and behold we got our first one on Monday! It has been a challenge for me to post lately. Just look at my archive and you will see a steady decline. Often I wonder if there has been a decline in my work also? Maybe this is because I'm finding it harder and harder to find time to create. Part of that is because I'm riddled with A.D.D just ask my wife she will tell you. No telling how many Polaroid collages I have made but the simple question is. Do you see a progression or recession? Every artist wants to know if he/she is moving forward. I hope my timeline doesn't reflect today's congress that is for sure! There are ups and downs with every artist but I'm learning to cherish and be thankful for the times that I do get to create and also realizing that it doesn't always have to be about Art.....Creating can be about lasting relationships with others, bringing joy to someone that doesn't expect you to, making a dinner for your family. Bottom line we all create something not because we want to but because WE HAVE to.....

I thought this one was appropriate for the times we live in. We have the Leader of Iran announcing that his country has a surprise for the West on February 11, 2010. Great, and my birthday is on 15th! So if anyone knows or has the address for the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, please email me or leave me a message on this blog because I would love to send him a nice big watermelon. Yes, you say why? I say why not! If all our leaders just sat down with some nice cold sweet watermelon(from the South of course) the world would be a lot safer. We even have seedless watermelon now. Which I try not to partake in because I don't think God intended for watermelon to be seedless. I digress; what I’m trying to say is Peace moves like the tides. People come and go with ideas on how we should achieve peace and we tend to forget about the simplest things that bring peace to this world and to our lives.....like watermelon.

I love the Shadow on the wall behind the lady. Sometimes the shadows are far more interesting then what is really going on with works of art. This is the 6th Paper Collage and I have one more to show you guys. I would love to hear thoughts on the small body of work. The 7th one will be out next week, so please get your thoughts ready! We have been so busy the last couple of weeks. I have been really sick with a wicked cold. Just now getting over it. We have moved out of 938 1/2 E. Palmetto. I will miss that place, it was a great little hut. The Palmetto name will still be used when I make up drinks on the fly. Palmetto Stinger, Palmetto Bug, Palmetto Blues, and of course the Palmetto martini. Mind you if you ask me to make you one of these drinks, it would be different each time! Alison and I have bought a lovely house in the greatest City in Polk County, no need to mention the name, all folks know where I'm talking about. Lord willing, we will close on or before November 20th. More words to come.....

Paper Collage

I have not been able to get back in the studio for sometime. Hopefully that will end soon. I do have a lot of work in the can. These new post are Paper collages. I have a lot of scrap paper laying around the studio. As always I can't bring myself to throw anything away. I have been working in a 8 1/2 x 6 notebook. These are the first six and many more to come. These were all done between April 2009 and June 2009.

My dad and I have been Buccaneer fans for as long as I can remember. Actually I was going to the Tampa Bay games before I was even born. Yes my mom and dad had season tickets the 1st year they started in the NFL,1976. I was born Feb 1977. As soon as I was old enough I was going to every home game with my dad. No matter how bad they were, we always kept going and let me tell ya during those years they were really bad. It didn't matter to us, we lived and died every sunday come football season. Shortly after my first year of college dad got rid of the tickets. The Bucs were becoming a good team so must of the games were on Tv. It didn't use to be that way. I remember mom would leave the room because we yelling at the Tv (can't watch football and not yell). Come to think of it, thats the only time I ever heard my dad yell. Well to make a long story short. As soon as the Buccaneers beat the Eagles I was on the computer looking up flights to fly to San Diego. Didn't mind if we didn't have tickets we were going! Found two Flights $350.00 each. Called Nick Lococo a buddy from College and told him we were flying out to SD and asked him if he could get us tickets to the game. He said, "Yeah right." Well couple of days later, Nick calls me back and says he has two tickets for face value($400.00) So we got on the plane and flew to San Diego, California to see the Buccaneers play in the Super Bowl The whole plan ride was smooth. We were smiling the whole way. It was like being on Cloud 9 I know it. Anyway, You could have put us in with the luggage and we wouldn't have mind. Well we get out to SD and Nick picks us up and shows us all around. Later that day Nick's dad approaches us and says, "There is a problem with the tickets. The guys wants more money he is afraid we were going to sell the tickets for more money. Nick's dad being the good Sicilian kindly tells the man, "You quoted me a price and thats what I told the people from Florida." Well we ended up with the tickets at face value. And the rest is probably one of the greatest times and memories that I had with my dad...words still can't do it justice.

The roll, in Feather bowling they use these wooden cheese wheels to roll down the lane. The lane slopes on both sides, you'll need a little bit of muscle and a lot of skill to reach the feather at the other end, 60 feet total, which is the same length as a bowling lane here in good old America......

Friends & Baseball

Kevin and Kristy Frew came into town on Sunday to hang out with us. We took in some good eats and then caught a spring training game. Its always fun going to a baseball game with friends. The game was great. The Marlins held the Tigers to a no hitter. We still saw some great plays and had a great time. What a weekend!

I have followed your movies for sometime. Each and everyone of them takes me to a place where I feel like i've been transported into a different world. I have always wondered when you would get the recognition that you deserve. Well, I finally got to see it. I am so happy for you. The movies you have picked and the progress you have made as a director, in my opinion displays a clear vision of the times and a understanding of our culture.

This may seem weird but until the Oscars, I had never seen your face. I saw all your movies but never a picture or an interview, nothing. Once I started to think about this, I couldn't believe it! I started to ask myself why? I still can't figure it out but I picked a perfect time to put a face with the name Danny Bolye.

Seeing you for the first time I could tell that you were man of fine character, a person filled with tons of joy! I could also tell the people around you had a great deal of respect for you. Mr. Danny Bolye, I would like to say thank you and if you happen to read this consider any photo or Polaroid Collage yours. I read this book during my fist year of college and I was going through an old box of stuff at my studio and there it was. I thought it was long gone. Its a great book and if your a visual artist you really should pick it up. I'm going through it again. Here is a quote from the book. "Seeing comes before words. The child looks and recognizes before it can speak.""But there is also another sense in which seeing comes before words. It is seeing which establishes our place in the surrounding world; we explain that world with words, but word can never undo the fact that we are surrounded by it. The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled." John Berger

We have set a date for the wedding and its 7•11•09 in the Great Lakes State. We are in full-born planning, but for some reason I can't find a yellow tux? If you find one out there drop me a line.

I've been listening to
Animale Collective Merriwearther Post Pavilion. I'v never been a fan of this group. Most of their albums I've heard but nothing really clicked with me. Not the case with this album, one time around and I was hooked. The melodies running through Merriwearther will keep you coming back and wanting more. You guys have found something special and I do hope you keep it up! Go Animale Collective go! I have a feeling we will be hearing from these guys at the end of the year.

I have taken a liking to Racquetball Ball, its a great sport and fun to play. If my skills keep improving, which they are everytime I pick up the racket(!) I might just look into joining a league. Only been playing for about 4 weeks and one of those weeks I had to take a break for beer and darts, well mainly beer. I've heard that drinking beer after you run a lot is good for you, but my friends don't believe me.

Oh this is not so funny(well maybe just a bit) I'm shooting a wedding last weekend and its going great. Got a couple of really good keepers, winners as I like to say. Well i'm at the reception and I go down to take a picture of this little boy dancing and I hear this clenk inside my camera!? I"m like that is weird what could that have been? Take off my lens and pop there goes my mirror right on the ground! I"m like &%$@! Yeah, so the rest of the night I couldn't see through the camera and I couldn't auto Focus. Come to find out Canon knows about this problem and will fix it for free, just send me a whole new camera for my trouble..
