Paper Collage

I have not been able to get back in the studio for sometime. Hopefully that will end soon. I do have a lot of work in the can. These new post are Paper collages. I have a lot of scrap paper laying around the studio. As always I can't bring myself to throw anything away. I have been working in a 8 1/2 x 6 notebook. These are the first six and many more to come. These were all done between April 2009 and June 2009.

Army #2

Another army picture of my father. I love the hat in this shot. Man its huge! Don't know the date of the photo...lets say its old!

Dad

Your influence and your love will forever be with me. I will miss you, you were a great dad and a great man and I hope that one day I will be a father just like you. I love you....

We shall build another

Weird times we are living in. Will we make history or will we be history? This is America and we shall build another..........

The Play

Closer you get your cheese wheels to that little feather the better off you are. When I head we were going Feather Bowling I got this picture in my head of a huge feather stuck in the ground. When I got there I was a little surprised with the size. One more picture to go in this little series of Feather Bowling photos.....

The Form

Form is a must for Feather Bowling. You have to have good form to be a successful Feather bowler. Mind you, I have never heard of feather bowling nor have I had a single lesson. I just showed up and well...look at the form

The Roll

The roll, in Feather bowling they use these wooden cheese wheels to roll down the lane. The lane slopes on both sides, you'll need a little bit of muscle and a lot of skill to reach the feather at the other end, 60 feet total, which is the same length as a bowling lane here in good old America......

The Rules

The rules for feather bowling, I got a kick out of reading them. I want to meet the guy that decided that you have to be at least 12 years old to bowl, and the No High Heels Rule. Who in their right mind would wear high heels to anything that has to do with bowling? Make sure you check out the Cadieux Cafe's website.

Feather Bowling

Cadieux Cafe is proud to be the only place in the United States where you can go Feather Bowling. Let me tell ya, its some kind of fun! I'll post pictures all week of my wonderful time at the Cadieux Cafe, located in the beautiful Detroit area. Check out the website and if you in Detroit its a must see....

Friends & Baseball

Kevin and Kristy Frew came into town on Sunday to hang out with us. We took in some good eats and then caught a spring training game. Its always fun going to a baseball game with friends. The game was great. The Marlins held the Tigers to a no hitter. We still saw some great plays and had a great time. What a weekend!

Fatherfigure

Hello and welcome back to Rapidview. I just got this one done. Its all framed up. The piece is 17x10 1/2". Framed 22x28". An example is below, I used the backs of the polaroid film for the backing. SnowBlowing in Wisconsin

Only my third time seeing snow. It was a blast visiting with all of Alison's family. But by far my favorite thing was snow blowing. Everybody should at least do it once! Yeah, once is enough for me!!!! Sorry about the back posting, I don't usually do that but December flew by like a flash and I wanted to share my favorite albums for 2008.......
